A New Home!

Hello, my friends,

The last month has been extremely busy for us. We went camping, we spoke at a mission conference in Switzerland, we welcomed a friend from the USA, and the executive director of Mennonite Mission Network came to visit. All of this has caused us to have very little free time. Our house is a mess, and our volunteers have been gracious enough to give us a long weekend. We’re taking this opportunity to wash all our laundry, clean house, and rest.

Even so, I wanted to take a few minutes to share some incredible news with you.

A new home for MSH!

Because of the incredible generosity of a longtime financial supporter of the Maria Skobtsova House (MSH), the association has been able to purchase a new house!

The new house is significantly larger, with a lot more bedrooms, more than one bathroom, and, best of all, a humungous outdoor space! We’re planning to start a vegetable garden and purchase outdoor toys for the children of MSH. This begins a new phase of our ministry, where we will continue doing many of the same things we’ve been doing, but we want to rethink some things and determine a way forward for both our family and MSH as a whole.

We’ll be working with the board to determine whether we can welcome more people than we do currently, whether we can broaden the scope of those we welcome, what more we can do for outreach, how we can better support the volunteers and numerous other things.

It’s an exciting new chapter or MSH, and we’re more than happy to be along for the ride!

That said, we are working on increasing our funding for our ministry by $3,000 per month. This will allow us to continue our work for the coming years and increase our capacity to support and serve those on the margins.
